  5. Find the cost of painting the walls of a room 24 ft. 3 in. long, 15 ft. 9 in. wide, and 12 ft. 6 in. high, at 3s. 4d. a square foot.
  6. Find the square root of 40028.00490.
  7. If 10 men mow 9 acres in 24 days, how many men will be required to mow 7 times as many acres in one-fifth of the time?
  8. Find the difference between the discount allowed on 918l., paid 4 years before it is due (interest taken at 5 per cent.), and the interest charged on the same sum for the same time.
  9. A man sells a horse for 41l. 16s., thus gaining 412 per cent. on the purchase-money. What did he give for it?
  10. Divide 1300l. into 3 parts in the ratio of 12, 13, 14.
